The Perth Healing Forest is a memorial located in Last Duel Park, Perth, dedicated to recognizing the harm done to Indigenous children in residential schools and promoting healing and reconciliation. It was unveiled on September 30, 2019, and serves as a symbol of hardship, hope, and healing. The memorial features a plaque with wording in both Anishinaabemowin and English, and red dresses were hung in a tree as part of the Red Dress Project to recognize missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people. The event also included guest speakers sharing their personal stories of tragedy, loss, and reconciliation. The Perth Healing Forest is part of the National Healing Forests initiative, which aims to support a nationwide network of green spaces dedicated to reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
